If you’ve been invited to join a Samsung Money by SoFi joint account, this guide will walk you through the steps to accept or decline the invitation and complete the application process.
1. Receive the Invitation
- You will receive an email invitation to join a joint account.
- The email will provide you with two options: Let’s make a joint account! or Create an individual account.
2. Choose Your Option
- To Accept the Invitation:
- Click on Let’s make a joint account!
- This will direct you to the Samsung Money by SoFi application page.
- To Decline the Invitation:
- Click on Create an individual account
- You can then proceed to create your own individual account.
3. Create Your Account
- If You Already Have a SoFi Account: Use your existing credentials to log in.
- If You Already Have a SoFi Money or Samsung Money by SoFi Account: You must close your individual account to open a joint account. You cannot have both a personal and a joint account simultaneously.
- If You Register with a Different Email: The invitation will be re-associated with your new email address.
4. Complete the Application
- Follow the link in the email to create your account and complete the Samsung Money by SoFi joint account application.
- The application will require you to provide the following information:
- Identification: Verify your identity using a government-issued ID.
- Two-Factor Authentication: Confirm your identity through a secure verification process.
- Citizenship: Provide details about your citizenship status.
- Legal/Regulatory Questions: Answer a few questions to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
5. Primary User Confirmation
- Once you have successfully completed the application, the primary user will receive an email to approve or decline your request.
- The Primary User would need to Login:
- Then, go to More from their account dashboard to see your information.
- The primary user must either select Approve joint account or Decline.
6. Final Steps
- If the Primary User Approves:
- Both you and the primary user will receive emails confirming the joint account.
- The account tile in the app will display as Joint Account.
- Both users will have the same access to the account, including the ability to change any information or close the account.
- If the Primary User Declines:
- You can continue to create an individual account.
